What It Does
Installed in position 4 of the <R>, <S>, and <T> cores, the TCQC supplies excitation voltage to the position LVDTs and digitally converts the fuel flow requested by the control system into an analog signal. It depends on the TCQA (and the TCQB, when present) on the same core to operate.
Use R/S/T Redundancy in Your Diagnosis
Since the Mark V TMR keeps three cores voting against each other, a symptom attributed to the TCQC on one specific core is worth comparing against the other two. If only one core diverges, that core's board is the direct suspect; if all three cores show the same incorrect value, the likely cause is in the field sensor or the terminal board, not the TCQC.
Diagnose Before You Buy
- Confirm the health of the TCQA on the same core before suspecting the TCQC.
- For out-of-spec voltage alarms, check the TCPS fuses and the consistency of the calibration file with the board/PROM revisions installed.
