Specifying vision hardware
Vision systems are a matched set — camera, lens, lighting and working distance are solved together, and swapping any one of them changes the field of view and whether the inspection still passes. A Cognex In-Sight body ordered without the correct lens and light will not simply work at a different standoff distance. If you are replacing a failed unit in an existing cell, send us the full bill of materials from the original build, not just the camera part number, and we will match it exactly. If you are specifying a new cell, tell us the part size, line speed and the feature you need to read or measure, and we will scope it properly rather than guessing.
Licensing and firmware
Cognex In-Sight jobs are tied to firmware versions — a spare unit shipped on newer firmware may refuse to load your existing job file. Tell us the firmware revision your line runs and we will match or downgrade before shipping.
