Overview
The XGS-SFP-ONT-MAC-I is a high-performance optical transceiver module designed for 10-Gigabit-capable passive optical network (XGS-PON) deployments. It functions as an integrated Optical Network Unit (ONU) by embedding a MAC controller and OMCI stack directly into an SFP+ form factor. This allows the module to handle bidirectional data transmission over a single-mode optical fiber, enabling 9.953 Gbps symmetric upstream and downstream data rates for distances up to 20km.
Key Features
- Integrated MAC and OMCI stack: Performs all ONU functions and FCAPS management directly within the SFP+ module, allowing deployment in standard Ethernet switches and routers.
- Industrial temperature range operation: Engineered to operate in environments from -40°C to 85°C, making it suitable for outdoor and harsh deployment conditions.
- Symmetric 10G throughput: Supports 9.953 Gbps rates for both upstream and downstream, facilitating high-bandwidth business services and fiber access networks.
- Class N1 power budget: Designed for a 29dB link budget, ensuring connectivity over optical paths up to 20km in length.
- Low power consumption: Operates with a power consumption of less than 2.1W, assisting in thermal management within small-form-factor networking equipment.
