A tested spare on the shelf is often the difference between a same-shift fix and a stalled restart — and for Mark VI temperature inputs, the spare that matters is this one. IS200VTCCH1C is the VTCC Thermocouple Processor Board: the rack card responsible for turning up to 24 field thermocouple signals into the temperatures your control and protection logic act on. Channel dropped from scan? The VTCC deliberately removes an input that violates hardware limits so it cannot disturb the other 23. That mechanism fires far more often for failed thermocouples and broken extension wire than for card faults — walk the loop out to the sensor first.

Reading drifts or steps but the sensor checks out? Measure loop resistance at the TBTC block against the 450-ohm allowance, inspect terminal tightness, and confirm polarity; a marginal splice behaves exactly like a lazy thermocouple.

Failures aligned to one of the two input cables? Reseat and inspect the cable and its connector at the rack before touching the card — half-board failures follow the cable boundary.

Consistent bias across many channels? Suspect the cold junction path. Documentation puts cold junction accuracy at 2 degrees Fahrenheit and notes any compensation error carries straight through to the displayed value.

Redundant system? In TMR configurations, the same sensors feed the <R>, <S>, and <T> sections, so a disagreement isolated to one section points at that section's card or cabling — a comparison that costs nothing and settles most arguments.
