Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between 512e and 4Kn drives?
Both use 4K physical sectors; 512e drives present 512-byte logical sectors for compatibility with older systems, while 4Kn drives expose 4K sectors natively and need OS and controller support.
What are recertified Toshiba drives?
Drives returned to the factory channel, tested and recertified to specification, then sold at a lower price than new. Each listing states whether a drive is new or recertified.
Can Toshiba MG drives replace OEM-branded drives in my server?
Often yes for capacity drives, but OEM servers may expect their own firmware and carrier. Send the server model and we quote the Toshiba or OEM-branded version that fits.
