Frequently Asked Questions
What do Samsung PM model numbers tell me?
PM-series drives are Samsung’s OEM and data center line; the number identifies generation and interface, and the MZ part number pins down capacity and form factor.
Can Samsung SSDs replace OEM drives in Dell or HPE servers?
Many Dell and HPE SSDs are Samsung drives with OEM firmware; for full controller support we can supply the OEM-labeled version.
How do I choose endurance?
Read-intensive drives (about 1 DWPD) suit boot and read-heavy work; mixed-use drives (about 3 DWPD) suit databases and virtualization. Our endurance guide explains DWPD and TBW.
